Our City & Guilds Level 2 qualification is the main starting point for a diverse and long lasting career in the hairdressing industry. This qualification introduces learners to the basics of client consultations.
Cut Hair Using Basic Barbering Techniques – including neck line and outline shapesCut Facial Hair to Shape Using Basic Techniques – tapered beard line, outlined beard and moustache shapesDry and Finish Man’s Hair – various styling techniques and finishing looks using a wide range of productsCreate Basic Patterns in Hair – create patterns in the hair including curved lines.
We offer flexible training routes with training and assessment at our Manchester City Centre Training School or within your salon. Our industry experienced, highly trained staff deliver background knowledge theory sessions, practical training sessions and 1:1 tutorial support where required. There are six mandatory units with the remainder of the qualification made up of optional units which are selected with the course tutor and employer to suit business needs: • Cutting • Shampooing • Styling • Cutting facial hair • Consultation • Health and safety

The Apprentices will be able to develop their skills like, self-management, relationship-building with clients, managing the workplace, and techniques which will support their self-directed learning.
