A 'whole organisational approach' to Every Child Matters

Michaeljohn Training School recognises that young people need support, information advice and guidance throughout their lives, particularly during the progression from school to working life. We maintain partnership working with our interagency partners to provide external guest speakers during learning sessions on topics including sexual health, contraception, money management, career pathways, personal safety, fitness and fire prevention. In a recent inspection, Ofsted inspectors assessed our working with partners to be OUTSTANDING!

Our staff are committed to a 'whole organisational approach' to the Every Child Matters agenda which requires young people to be taught how to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic wellbeing.  The Every Child Matters agenda is embedded into schemes of work and lesson plans for all qualifications offered at Michaeljohn. Vibrant wall displays promote themes and positive messages on how to live healthy lifestyles.
